Since November 1st, 2015 I started a new job at the University of Berne, Switzerland, Department of 'Rekonstruktive Zahnmedizin und Gerodontologie'. I will take care of a series of lectures on Orofacial Pain to the 5th grade undergraduate students. Up and above I will serve as an instructor on this topic for the postgraduate colleagues, specialising in the field of ,Rekonstruktive Zahnmedizin', 'Gerodontologie' and 'Kinderzahnmedizin'. On May 27, 2014 I successfully defended my PhD-thesis in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The title of the thesis is 'A data-supported reference position of the intermaxillary relationship: The stable orthopedic position for healthy individuals and for TMD-patients. The study is a methodological sound approach to document a, relatively unknown in the Netherlands, reference position of the mandible for healthy individuals as well as for TMD patients. The results of the study are promising and deserve a randomized clinical trial, even multicenter study to confirm its potential as the reference position of choice of the intermaxillary relationship.
